In the recently constructed Visitor Center (2002) visitors can wait for their tour of the Canterbury Shaker Village, a National Historic Landmark with 25 original buildings, situated on a rolling hilltop surrounded by open fields, wood lots, and ponds.
The Visitor Center features photographs of the Shakers, taken by the Shakers themselves over the course of 200 years on the grounds. At the Visitor Center, visitors can also learn all there is to offer on the 694 acres of Shaker History.
