Brown Company House Museum, Berlin, NH

This museum tells the story of the Brown Company’s transformation of Berlin into vibrant city and center of commerce at the turn of the century as well as the history and heritage of the Northern Forest of New England and Quebec as a working forest. The Brown House was built in 1853 and is one of Berlin’s oldest wood framed structures. The house provided temporary lodging for Brown Company mill workers, visiting managers, and executives.

Visitors will come away with an understanding of the history of the Northern Forest, the Brown Company family, the Logging Camps, the Paper and Pulp Industry and the history of the people of Berlin.
